What Is Clinical Pathology?

When your pet needs to be evaluated in order to determine which diseases they may have, your veterinarian may request that samples be taken (for example, urine or blood samples) and sent to the lab. Clinical pathology is the field of medicine which is concerned with analysing bodily fluids and tissues and diagnosing diseases from the results.

When Can You Expect Results?

We prioritise accuracy and speed when working with lab samples; we know that it's important to get you answers as soon as possible while still making sure we avoid mistakes in our diagnosis. Simpler tests may take only a few minutes, while blood work may take up to a day and some other tests may take several days. Discuss the requested tests with your veterinarian to make sure you know what to expect.
