What Environment Is Right?

The size of your birdcage depends on the breed of bird but should be large enough to allow your pet to move around freely. Place the cage in a well-lit area with natural light and frequent human contact. Fill their cage with activities like ladders, ropes, swings, mirrors and bells that will provide stimulation for your pet.

Other Important Things to Know

Place a cover over your birdcage at night to protect your bird and help make it more comfortable during their sleep. Feed your bird a specially prepared seed mix made for their specific breed, and supplement their diet with green foods and fruit. Change your pet's water dish frequently, especially when hot or when dirty.
